Etiologie posibila in schizofrenie
Fibroblast Growth Factors in Schizophrenia Schizophrenia Bulletin, 05/13/09 - Based on the
direct interaction recently found between FGFRs and adenosine A2A receptors, leading to corticostriatal plasticity and antagonizing the signaling pathway of dopamine D2 receptors; the role of
fibroblast growth factors in schizophrenia and related disorders needs to be studied in more detail. Methods * Review the role of FGFs in schizophrenia and combine evidence from studies on
variations in * o FGF genes, o RNA expression, o protein levels, and o FGF administration, o as well as the effects of medication and environmental risk factors for schizophrenia. Results * Changes
in the FGF system contribute to schizophrenia and possibly to a wider range of psychiatric disorders.
