 STEAMING HOT PEAS BIRIYANI

Mouth-watering! Delicious! Mother usually made Peas Biryani on
Wednesday afternoons in winter. It was her favourite dish to prepare,
for it was easy to make, yet a hot favourite amongst the kids.
Moreover fresh peas were in season and tasted heavenly!

She heated some oil in a pan and added a spoonful of cumin seeds. Then
she added a handful of chopped onions. She proceeded to add some green
peas and seasoned them with salt and turmeric powder. Having sautéed
them for a couple of minutes she turned in the cleaned and washed rice
and poured in a good amount of water. She covered the pan with a lid
and let it cook on a slow flame.

Strangely, the ingredients in the simmering pot started a conversation.
The rice was the first to say, 'I am the most important of all of us
present here
for I am pure white and wholesome. I am the key ingredient to making
Peas Biryani. I am SATYA, this is the Truth.'

The yellow turmeric powder chuckled and said, 'No longer are you white
my dear, for I have dyed you in my own colour. I am DHARMA. This is my
duty.'

The peas smiled peacefully and said, 'What is Peas Biryani, without peas, eh?
We are the most attractive and delicious part of this preparation.. We
are Shanti. We are PEACE. We are peas (peace) and our colour too is
green that is the colour of peace!'

The salt mused to itself and said, 'Who would ever be able to eat Peas Biryani,
without salt? I am the most important of all. If I were not there Peas
Biryani would be unpalatable. My taste shall be infused in each
particle. I am PREMA. I love each one of you equally.'

The onions said, 'We add the tang to this dish. We add flavour. We are the soul
of all vegetarian food. We are AHIMSA. We tolerate all other flavours,
yet retain
our own!'

The pan spoke up and said, 'It's I who is holding all of you in
here. But for me, you would all have been separate identities. I have
held you together, so that jointly, you can become a delicious dish.
Where would you be without me?
I am DISCIPLINE and I am indispensable. '

The cumin seeds were dancing up and down in the boiling water and said,'
Try making Biryani, without us! It shall be quite tasteless. We sizzle
in the hot
oil first of all for we are devoted to spreading our flavour, wherever we go.
We are DEVOTION.'

The Biryani was almost ready and the oil glistened on every grain ofrice.. It
said, 'I ensure that each grain of rice, each pea and each cumin seed, retains
its individual identity. I prevent stickiness. I am DISCRIMINATION! '

The water was almost completely absorbed by now. It smiled contentedly
and said, 'I was determined to permeate into each particle of all of you..
Without me could peas Biryani ever have been made? I am DETERMINATION
and I am the most important of all !'

Mother came by and checked to see, if the Biryani was done. The gas flame
smiled quietly to itself and said, 'Each one is so full of its own importance.
Without the power of heat provided by me, what would they be? It is the power
of God vested in me that I can give the energy to cook..

Alas, who remembers the POWER OF GOD?' God smiled to Himself as the
lady turned off the gas and waited, till He was needed again.

REFLECTION

Each one of us in this world is so full of his or her importance. We
conveniently forget God who gives us the power to do everything.

Whether acknowledged or not, whether remembered or not, God is the
power behind doing and making everything, even that Peas Biryan.

Puterea Rugaciunii

Prayers indeed heal diseases, scientists say

People indeed can recover in temples when they touch holy
relics or sanctuaries. St. Petersburg scientists have proved it and
discovered the "material" mechanism of divine phenomena.

A prayer is a powerful remedy, said Valery Slezin, Head of the
laboratory of neuropsychophysiology of St Petersburg Research and
development Psychoneurological Institute n.a. Bekhterev. "It does not
only regulate all the processes in the human organism, but it also
restores the damaged structure of consciousness."

Professor Slezin did something unbelievable – he measured the power of
prayer. He recorded electroencephalograms of praying monks and fixed
an unusual phenomenon – the complete "switch-off" of their cerebral
cortex. This state can be observed only with babies aged three months
when they are near their mother in complete safety. As a person grows
up, the feeling of safety disappears, brain activity increases and the
rhythm of cerebral biocurrents become rarer only during deep sleep and
during a prayer, as the scientist proved. Valery Slezin called this
unknown state slow, or praying, wakefulness and proved that it is
vital for any person.

It is a known fact that diseases are mostly caused by negative
situations and offenses that stick in our mind. However, during a
prayer worries move to the background or even disappear at all. Thus,
both moral and physical healing is possible.

Even church services help to improve health. Engineer and
electrophysicist Angelina Malakhovskaya from the laboratory of medical
and biological technologies carried out above thousand research to
find out clinical health characteristics of parishioners before and
after the service. It turned out that a service in a temple normalizes
the blood pressure and blood values.

Prayers may neutralize even radiation. It is known that after the
Chernobyl explosion radiation instruments returned an off-scale
reading. However, radiation background was normal near The
Archistratigus Michael church that is four kilometers away from
reactors. St. Petersburg scientists confirmed by experiments that the
holy water, the sign of the cross and ringing of church bells may be
healing as well. That is why, in Russia the bells were constantly
ringing during epidemics.

The ultrasound range of bell ringing kills viruses of flue, jaundice
and typhus: proteins of viruses curl and carry no infection, said
Angelina Malakhovskaya. The sign of cross is even more effective, it
kills pathogenic microbes (colon bacillus and staphylococci) not only
in tap water, but also in rivers and lakes. It is even more efficient
than modern disinfecting devices of electromagnetic radiation.

The scientific laboratory of Industrial and Naval Medicine Institute
researched water before and after consecration. It turned out that if
the Lord's Prayer is read over water and the water is crossed then,
the number of malignant bacteria will be one hundred times lower.
Electromagnetic radiation gives much worse results. Thus, Orthodox
recommendations to consecrate any food and drink is not just of
spiritual and also of preventive character.

The holy water is not just purified; it changes its structure, become
harmless and healing. Special devices can prove that.

Spectrographs suggest that consecrated water has greater optical
density, as if it understood the sense of prayers and kept it. That is
the reason for its unique healing quality.

The only limitation is that it heals only pious people.

"Water differentiates the level of people's belief," Angelina
Malakhovskaya said. "When a priest consecrates water, the optical
density is 2.5 times more, when it is done by a religious layman, it
is only 1.5 times more, but with a christened and unbelieving man
without a cross on his neck, the changes were insignificant."

6102049998-45-54610.

Telefonista - Multumesc, dle X. Vad ca locuiti la1742 Meadowland Drive si
aveti tel. 494-2366.

Totalul dvs.
este $49.99.

Clientul - (strigand in casa) Nevasta, adu-mi te rog credit cardul!

Telefonista - Imi pare rau domnule, dar trebuie sa platiti cash. Credit

Clientul - Da , bine, n-are nimic. Trimite pizzele si gasesc eu niste bani
in casa pana ajunge. In cat timp imi vine pizza?

Telefonista - Suntem putin in intarziere, as zice cam 45 de minute. Daca
va grabiti, puteti veni dvs. pana aici sa ridicati personal comanda, dupa

Clientul -- . (fara cuvinte)

Telefonista - Mai doriti altceva, domnule?

O săptămână petrecută într-o insulă grecească mi-a readus
piscinele hotelurilor scumpe au inventat şi, last but not least, cum
Buzele rujate strident, lascivitatea studiată a mişcărilor (femeia
"Mprţ!", vorba unui personaj dintr-o epistolă a
Or, toate aceste manifestări spun că suntem departe de maturitatea

Learning From The Big Picture
Cycle Of Life

As we walk through the world, the people we encounter appear so
different from one another. We see babies, old men, pregnant women,
and teenaged boys. We know couples on the verge of marriage and lonely
widows. We interact with toddlers and the terminally ill. As different
as each person seems, they are all living the human experience. They
are just at different places in the cycle that begins with birth and
ends with death. Every phase of the cycle of life has its gifts and
its challenges. Each stage is temporary and ultimately gives way to a
new phase. This ephemeral quality makes each phase precious, because
it will never last.

One of the wonderful qualities possessed by babies and young children
is that they are unaware that a cycle of life even exists. They simply
are present to wherever they happen to be right now, and they don't
give much thought to the past or future. Being around them reminds us
of the joy that comes from living fully in the moment. On the opposite
end of life's cycle are our elderly role models. They are a reminder
that each phase of life should be treasured. Time does pass, and we
all change and grow older.

Being aware of the cycle of life and our place in it makes us wiser.
As we develop a true appreciation for the phase we are in, we can
savor it more. A new mother going through a difficult time with her
infant can more easily embrace her challenges because she knows that
her child will grow up, and she will long for this time again.
Difficult and challenging periods are inevitable, but – like
everything that is a part of the cycle of life – they are temporary.
When we are fully engaged with life, we get to savor and grow from
each phase, and we are ready for the next one when it arrives. Fully
embracing wherever you are in the cycle of life is the very essence to
happiness.

Plesu Genial

Plesu Genial

Orice calatorie e o experienta a diversitatii.

Nu
doar closetul raspundea incultelor mele comenzi, ci toate robinetele
înca(perii, oglinzile, peretii, pardoseala. Proportiile odaii, eclerajul,
înclinatia obiectelor anexe, toate se modificau imperturbabil, sub
privirile mele amarîte, filtrate de incontrolabile perdele de apa.

foarte scump hotel traditional.
unei anumite succesiuni a gesturilor, îl tinea blocat.

îti desfaci bagajul, ra(sfoiesti pliante s.a.m.d. Aici nimic.
A scos

A aparut o

O alt patit fusese Gabriel Liiceanu.
Trebuia, fireste, facut ceva!
Gabriel s-a
Dupa chinuitorul lotus dinainte, noua postura
parea mîntuirea însasi. Dar numai pentru cîteva minute. Calcîiele nu sînt
nici ele antrenate sa suporte întreaga pagoda a corpului.
scaun!

profesor, de-a lungul aceleiasi ceremonii culinare.

Calea
româneasca: stai strîmb si judeci drept. Stai cum da Dumnezeu! Stai cum
poti! Asta-i situatia!
Vorba gheisei mele: Shabu-shabu!

Upper Energy - De Sus in jos...

* Mai exista gindire desinteresata?

It is not those who lack energy or refrain from action, but those who
work without expectation of reward who attain the goal of meditation.
Theirs is true renunciation. Therefore, Arjuna, you should understand
that renunciation and the performance of selfless service are the
same. Those who cannot renounce attachment to the results of their
work are far from the path.

* Spirit este iubire

Remember, in our inmost being, we are all completely lovable because
spirit is love. Beyond what anyone can make you think or feel about
yourself, your unconditioned spirit stands, shining with a love
nothing can tarnish.

The Dance of Intimacy
Coming Back to Center in a Relationship

Anyone in a long-term relationship knows that the dance of intimacy
involves coming together and moving apart. Early in a relationship,
intense periods of closeness are important in order to establish the
ground of a new union. Just as a sapling needs a lot more attention
than a full-grown tree, budding relationships demand time and
attention if they are to fully take root. Once they become more
established, the individuals in the union begin to turn their
attention outward again, to the other parts of their lives that
matter, such as work, family, and friendships. This is natural and
healthy. Yet, if a long-term relationship is to last, turning towards
one another recurrently, with the same curiosity, attention, and
nurturance of earlier times, is essential.

In a busy and demanding world full of obligations and opportunities,
we sometimes lose track of our primary relationships, thinking they
will tend to themselves. We may have the best intentions when we think
about how nice it would be to surprise our partner with a gift or
establish a weekly date night. Yet somehow, life gets in the way. We
may think that our love is strong enough to survive without attention.
Yet even mature trees need water and care if they are to thrive.

One of the best ways to nourish a relationship is through
communication. If you feel that a distance has grown between you and
your partner, you may be able to bridge the gap by sharing how you
feel. Do your best to avoid blame and regret. Focus instead on the
positive, which is the fact that you want to grow closer together.
Sometimes, just acknowledging that there is distance between you has
the effect of bringing the relationship into balance. In other cases,
more intense effort and attention may be required. You may want to set
aside time to talk and come up with solutions together. Remember to
have compassion for each other. You're in the same boat together and
trying to maintain the right balance of space and togetherness to keep
your relationship healthy and thriving. Express faith and confidence
in each other, and enjoy the slow dance of intimacy that can resume
between the two of you.
